2001 Labor Day Association History
D & P Amusements of Newburgh, Indiana will provide the Carnival Rides.
Julie Shofstaff will be the Labor Day Photographer.
Gene Worthington portrayed “John L. Lewis” over the 4 days of the Celebration. He was the 1st speaker on Monday before UMWA International President, Cecil Roberts spoke.
American Advertising of Boonville, Indiana did both the Commemorative & Volunteers T-Shirts.
Parade CO Grand Marshalls were Terry Bennett, past Labor Day President and Indiana Governor Frank O’Bannon.
A heavy rain on Friday night wiped out the Demo Derby. The Association upped the prize money for Sunday’s Demo Derby to encourage the drivers to come back.
Labor Day Association dues are $2.00 per working member.
The theme was “Union Yes–Organize”
