1998 Labor Day Association History
The theme for 1998 is “UNION Card don’t leave home without it”.
Kim Musgrave reported on the possibility starting a website for The Labor Day Association.
Mike Faries will do the photos for the Labor Day Celebration, there will not be video shot this year.
Diamond Tees of Evansville, Indiana will do the Commemorative T-shirts.
American Advertising of Boonville, Indiana will do the Volunteer T-shirts.
Parade CO Grand Marshalls were Indiana U.S. Senator Evan Bayh and Cecil Roberts UMWA International President.
Parade Committee added 3 new trophy awards; Roy Mabrey, Tommie Blaylock and Gary Wheaton
D & P Amusements of Newburgh, Indiana will provide the Carnival Rides.
Mike & Paula Faries will do the Pageant stage.
North High School’s Shop Class will come on Monday to help tear down the Celebration.
Motion was made to start having the monthly Labor Day Association meetings at the Evansville, Indiana Labor Temple at 7:00pm.
Creative Signs of Evansville, Indiana will do the arena signs as orders happen.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson and UMWA International President-Cecil Roberts will be the speakers at the Labor Rally on Monday.
Kevin Tribble will MC the Saturday night Pageants.
Labor Day Association dues are $2.00 per working member.
